Tourist Authorities of Rhodes interested in the extension to the Eastern markets.

Also named as increasing tourist markets, the countries of thenformer Eastern Block and former Soviet Union, have attracted thenattention of the local tourist authorities of Rhodes, expecting annimportant increase of tourist movement on the island in the years toncome.

Of course, according always to journalistic informationnof local newspapers of Rhodes, there are forecasts for the realisationnof about 10 charter flights per week from April to September (beginningnfrom the coming tourist season 2006) that will arrive from the formernSoviet countries with destination the island of Rhodes. The forecastsnfor the average number of arrivals via flights increase the number ofnarrivals for 2006 by five times compared to the corresponding arrivalsnof 2005.

However it’s not a secret that the particular touristnmarkets are characterized as most capable not only to compensate anynlosses from the traditional markets, but to develop themselves in onenof the most profitable market for the future, as long as theirnpolitical and economical situation is improved.
